celebrations are planned this week to mark the 80th anniversary of <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/30\/ve-day-2025-a-bank-holiday-uk-2-23001770\/\">Victory in Europe (VE) Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A military procession took place from Whitehall to <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/buckingham-palace\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Buckingham Palace<\/a> yesterday on <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bank-holiday\/\">Bank Holiday<\/a> Monday, with the Royal Family taking to the balcony.<\/p>\n<p>It featured a display of pageantry by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and The King\u2019s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, showcasing ceremonial traditions of the British Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>Winston Churchill\u2019s famous Victory Day speech was
