protesters shouted outside the <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/us-news\/\">US<\/a> Embassy in Nine Elms, <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/london\/\">London<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A crowd gathered to call for the cancellation of <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s state visit to the UK, offered by Sir Keir Starmer when he<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/02\/mayor-london-invites-donald-trump-a-curry-state-visit-22655116\/\"> met with Trump in the White House last week. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>More than 100,000 people have already signed a petition, launched by the <a href=\"https:\/\/stoptrump.org.uk\/petition-cancel\/\">Stop Trump Coalition<\/a>. And another petition set up by 38Degrees nears 185,000.<\/p>\n<p>Zoe Gardner, one of the organisers, threatened much larger, mass protests in the capital if the visit goes ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u00a0should not\u00a0be rewarding him with a visit to London and a dinner with the King,\u2019 she told <strong>Metro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If the visit does go ahead,we will organise much bigger mass protests. He has chosen his side. Sadly, he has chosen Putin’s side. condemned Trump for the way he treated <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/volodymyr-zelenskyy\/\">Volodymyr Zelensky<\/a> and for withdrawing military support for the war-torn nation.<\/p>\n<p>One issue that protesters here have been clear on – the use of the seized Russian assets in Europe to fund\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s\u00a0defence in the absence of
